CAN 1 Bill Abbott, Joanne Abbott and Matthew Godfrey North American Champions

The last day of the North American Championship started slow, ugly and even cold to be summer, the wind from South wouldn’t stablish with a light intensity of 4 to 6 knots, flat water. After about an hour waiting finally it started, amazingly both ends paid and three boats arrived close at the weather mark, first the Californians USA 794 Andy Folz, Josh Lippitt and Alex Yakutis showing a boost of speed, followed on same side by USA 853 Matias Collins, Peter Norman and James Watson and lose ah ...  read more

A perfect sailing day at the North American Championship in Kingston

Two beautiful races with a nice blow from 12 to 17 knots with some swells starting to build, and very close racing. The only problem was the new self-positioning marks... they are too small, impossible to be seen, once at the second race even with some Etchells ahead rounding the same mark almost all Solings ended up overstanding the first weather mark. The first race won by CAN 230 Ross Findlater, John McNeil and Gord Devries had a close fight with CAN 1 Bill Abbott, Joanne Abbott and Matthew ...  read more

Spring series under a heat wave

The Severn Sailing started racing their traditional Spring series, it had a full summer weather, hot, sunny and with typical light winds from the South, a condition that local heroes know the best, as an aggregate the multiple direction chop waves, created by all boaters rushing nowhere back and forward, unbelievable senseless. Race Officer Barbara Vobsbury placed three races, windward / leeward with two laps of approximately 0.7 Nm, three clean starts and those sailing to the right alway ...  read more

The wind absence was the protagonist at the Friendship Cup

Another summer day, really hot, with a slow morning after a great evening yesterday where a great table was set and a fantastic meal served by the RCNM, with a goat salad as starter, then entrecot and French fries and as dessert profiteroles, water, wine and beer kept coming to a point a bunch of sailors continued the party after the dinner and one drink leads to another and finally they had to stay at the club and sleep in the youth rooms. Probably it was a non-planned snoring festival. Af ...  read more
