This morning with heavy wind conditions 25+knots, the Solings headed out to the racecourse, all those who had issues the day before could solve them yesterday and were ready to roll, due to the wind a few decided to stay and wait for a wind decrease. Meanwhile the teams were on their way out the BYC harbor master were busy moving trailers to the parking zone.
The first race already had a team way too anxious for sailing, UKR 2 helmed by Dmitry Yarovyy sailing with Roman Marchenko and Yevgen Klochko who received their UFD flag, being early in the minute previous to the start. With other 4 boats that couldn't compete or did not finish the first race, making this first one all about a dispute amongst 25 boats from 12 different nations and three continents.
2025 German champion GER 339 helmed by Donals Lippertt sailing with Tim Giesecke and Sven Rikwald were the first to kick the bucket and achieve his bullet, the young Norwegian team NOR 141 helmed by August Austfjord sailing with Orjan Flo and Daniel Flo Fjaere showed the fresh blood in the class not only by finishing second but just ahead 5 time world champion and local hero HUN 11 team Process Solutions helmed by Litkey Farkas sailing with Karoly Vezer and Christoph Wossala.
After this first race, the competition for the special trophies started to be established like the young Ukraninan Liubov Chunikhovska sailing on UKR 1 helmed by Sergey Pichuguin and Sergey Ivansits head a better start with an 8th finish over Annamaria Sabjan who is helming HUN 771 and sailing with Andras Bajusz and Krauth Balazs who had a 19th both strong contenders for the Tony Clare Trophy awarded for the best Women placed at the event.
The contest at the Paul Elvstrom trophy it was time for August Austfjord on NOR 141 to lead over Marco Lombardo helming ITA 252 sailing with Alberto de Amicis and Marco de Amicis, trophy awarded to the helm age 35 or less.

The KC 1 Classic trophy that will be awarded to the best boat built before January 1st of 1980 already sees the old Elvstrom under flag AUT 43 helmed by Norwegian Vidar Ljungstrom sailing with Harald Hilde and Bernhard Strauch as a strong contender by finishing 22nd.
After three race that were abandon before the first weather mark, sailos kicked out to the water, several broaches, many decided to go into harbor as conditions where maybe too heavy for a season start to many of the teams.
Anyway, the second race started and again the Berliner team GER 339 achieved their second bullet followed this time by HUN 11 team Process Solutions and in third the Austrian team from SCK at Attersee AUT 7 helmed by Florian Felzmann sailing with Stephan Beurle and Michael Felzmann. The podium already start to look a fight from 4 different countries Germany, Hungary, Austria and Norway, while two others like Ukraine and Brazil have made a step forward to get closer.
At this race basically 1/3 of the fleet either opted to save equipment for the next days or had some sort of issue to continue racing or in some cases received their UFD flags leaving the competition in a situation that being a middle fleet finish actually meant a great finish for the conditions. Also after this race half of the fleet already hope for sixs races and a discard to be counted as they already have the one selected.
At the moment sailors are either fixing for tomorrow, or already having a nice meal after a warm shower since temperatures dropped considerably and those with Dry Suits are thanking for having them on.
Tomorrow two more races are scheduled for 10:00 am
