Today the Technical Committee finished inspecting the boats, many boats presented different things to solve before the competition, from boats that were light to mast tips also being light, sails without sail labels, outside the proper dimension, etc. A warning and the reason the inspection process exists, but when done ensures the fairness of the game amongst the competitors in a class that at the end it will matter the sailing knowledge and teamwork of the crew giving all teams the chance to avoid an equipment dispute during the event.

Around 1400 the Race committee under an increasing southwest 17 rising into 25+ knots, with storm warning signals, started the practice race where 11 boats took part. Many incidents, one 1 mast broke, as usual it failed the track car of lower shroud, many other boats with lines cuts, and they are now fixing all the issues. During the race even local hero, 5 times World Champion HUN 11 helmed by Farkas Litkey sailing with Karoly Vezer and Christoph Wossala had a nose deep at the downwind while planning the short Balatong wave meanwhile flying the spinnaker in the extreme gusts.
For tomorrow wind is also forecasted but shifting to North and temperatures way cooler than today.

At 1800 sharp the Opening ceremony started at the Balatonfured Yach Club, with Benjamin Vadnai - Olympic sailor representing the club giving his welcome, then Dr. Istvan Boka - Mayor of Balatonfüred gave his welcome inviting, he also introduced class Interim President Dave Baum who gave his speech followed by Sandor Varjas from HUN 1 and local member of the club who then invited András Holczhauser - General Secretary of the Hungarian Sailing Federation, following Mona Toth representing Rooster–Monautix - one of the sponsors of the Balatonfüredi Yach Club, then it was time for Bence Kárpáti - Race Officer and Susanne Kuusansalo - Chair of the International Jury. After all the speeches a perfect opportunity for the Norwegian representatives leaded by Lars Ingeberg with the support of former World Champion Roman Koch to start a presentation about the 2026 Soling European Championship that will be held in Grimstad, NOR next September with a video included and a QR leading to the event information.
Then while country representatives were receiving the 2026 Soling Sailing magazines the free beer tent was declared open and the BYC offered sausages to the present, the beer run out very quick, amazing a boat in which the sailor doesn't need to worry about their weight. BTW if you are a class member the 2026 magazine is already available online at the publications area.

Some teams were still in need to finish their registration process, for that purpose the race office were left open until 1840 in another great service from the BYC the harbor master tomorrow will be moving the trailers to the trailer parking zone to those who couldn't do it today.

Tomorrow two races are scheduled starting on 10:00 am, despite the forecast.
