Practice race at the 2025 Soling World Championship

With great weather and atypical, fantastic breeze from northwest moving to west at 13 to 16 knots, best way to start the championship in Porto Alegre Brazil, a three lap course (ISA nr.3) was set and race started without anyone being so anxious to cross the line early.
The boats on the left granted a great start, moving ahead at the first mark, BRA 78 Nelson ilha, Manfredo Floricke and Leonardo Mayrhofer where the first to round followed by HUN 11 ( Process Solutions ) sailed by Litkey Farkas, Karoly Vezer and Kristoff Wossala, CAN 225 with Peter Hall, William Hall and Gustavo Ilha rounded third just ahead of GER 1 who was sailing with a crew of two one of them from ARG 32 managed to round ahead BRA 73 (Carioba – Alumnasa) the team to beat at the event big names like Kadu Bergenthal, Vilnei Goldmeier and Edgar Oppitz, also a superb barbecue host, party held on Monday night.
The wind kept veering to the left but BRA 78 managed to keep their lead despite HUN 11 chasing them close. At the end a few boats in the lead droped their races and the finishers were BRA 73, CAN 225 followed by USA 853 sailed by Matias Collins, Gonzalo Celedoni and Peter Siegel.
While sailors are enjoying at the Veleiros do Sul deck, ARG 32 still is on the road after first crashing a gear box, in the first 300km of the 1400km trip, another Soling sailor from ARG 40 lended his car for the trip which started as soon as documents were ready for the trip, they are expected to arrive around 2030hs.
The racing of the World Championship will start tomorrow at 14hs after a quick Annual Class meeting.
