Last weekend we were again guests in Hoorn at the Etchellclub. Four solings with crew were eager to get back on the water. Three solings will also participate in the European Championship in Mandello del Lario, so a perfect opportunity for the boats and crew to dot the i's and cross the t's.

We started this weekend together with Etchells, but sail our own classification. On Saturday there were three races that were all won by the NED33. Behind them it was an exciting battle, where real match race duels were fought. With a lovely sun and between 8 and 12 knots of wind this was a perfect sailing day. The day ended with a delicious BBQ provided by the Etchellclub. In the lovely evening sun with a view of the beautiful historic Hoorn. Tired but satisfied and with enough points for improvement, the beds were sought.

On Sunday morning the sun and wind were present again. At 11:00 am the first start of three races was. The race course and starts were perfectly taken care of by Leendert and his committee on the starting ship the Vrijheid. All three races were won by Rudy, Theo and Ramzi.

Behind the NED33 there was a fierce battle for second place, which was won by the NED49. The NED37 came third and the NED44 fourth, between these boats there were only 2 points difference after six races.

The Hoofdtorenrace has now been won for the third time in a row by the NED33. We are grateful to the Etchellclub for organizing this wonderful weekend. The boats are now being prepared to travel to Lake Como next week, to sail there with our international Soling friends.
