After the last two scheduled races held on lake Copusden, the Berliner team GER 339 leaded by Donald Lippert, Sven Rikwald and Tim Giesecke raised as champions with an impeccable series, discarding their worst results a 4th place, all others were a top three positions with 4 bullets an impressive record that outcome the two experienced Bavarians teams GER 11 sailed by Michael Dietzel, Killian Schmidt and Maja Haupt and the legendary wind sniffer GER 308 sailed by Karl Haist, Martin Zeileis and Irene Haist, both teams members of the Bayersich Yacht Club but also SCK for GER 308.
GER 11 finishes were all top 10s discarding an 8 and bringing home just one bullet on today's first race that was enough to put pressure on GER 308 who had a worst discard with a 13th and two bullets but not enough finish under by just a point on the younger team.
Locals were happy as GER 224 with CYCM members Leopold Bergk, Timo Friedrich and Alexander Hahn did a great job to finish 4th overall with also all top 10 finishes except the discard an 11, but they also had their bullet, the first one of the series.
The Cospuden Lake and the CYCM has successfully organized their first Soling event with a great participation, next event in Germany will be the West German Championship held at lake Edersee in June, but before, 7 teams who sailed the German Open will be attending the European Championship at lake Como (Madello del Lario www.solingeuropeans.com in about two weeks.
