2025 ISA Annual Meetings

The 2025 ISA Annual General and Committee Meeting will be held on November 19 of 2025 , 0900 AM at Veleiros do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil..
This before racing during the 2025 World Championship, if necessary it will continue the next morning. Soon the office will post and forward NSA representatives and ISA committee members the Agenda for the one.
This notice being published on August 13, 2025 in compliance with ISA Constitution 5.3.5 and 5.3.8

No hiking vests at the Friendship Cup

The event in 2025 had eight (8) invited teams sailing over 6 boats lent by their owners.
The new format of the event didn't allow to use the hiking vests, a decision approved by all sailing the event.

The racing had two round robins to qualify a total of 16 races where all teams sailed all boats, they were switching the ones at each race.
Started on February 21st with 8 races and each team competing at 6 races.
The race course was set in front of the Yacht Club and the first round robin was concluded with winds from 190 to 140 degrees. At this point the leading team was International with the Canadians headed by Peter Hall with 9 points followed by the Brazilian team headed by Kadu Bergenthal with 12 points and in third another Brazilian headed by Nelson Ilha with 18 points. Teams from Carlo de Leo and Gustavo Geyer were at this point qualified at the Gold fleet..

The second round robin and the qualifying phase was concluded on the afternoon of Saturday February 22nd with a long day, light wind, and shifting from 190 to 90 degrees.
The qualified teams to the gold fleet were headed by Nelson Ilha, Peter Hall, Kadu Bergenthal, Carlo de Leo and Henrique Ilha. Leaving the teams from Gustavo Geyer, Marcus Caminha and Carlos Silva to the silver fleet

On Sunday February 23rd the final races were held starting with a good wind from 230 degrees, almost for the all 5 races in the gold fleet then the one shifted and decreased for the Silver fleet to their single race.
The five races of the Gold fleet were intense and up to the 4th race teams from Kadu and Nelson Ilha were in a tie leading the event. But at the 5th race team Kadu won the race to win the event with Vilnei and Edgar and Nelson at the end was able to win the tie with Henrique Horn Ilha who finished third with his team.
