Local knowledge was a key factor at this beautiful Norwegian summer day, two races were accomplished by the race officer Nina Myhre in which the last one was shortened at the upwind beat.
The Olympic sailor in 1984 Dag Usterud sailing with Torgeir Pedersen and Terje Sorteberg in their recently acquired NOR 66 showed all cards and obtained two bullets in the day, catapulting them to lead overall.
It was real difficult sailing where gains and losses were clear only after each rounding and nothing was completely signed until the finish gun.
Team Process Solutions HUN 11 with Farkas Litkey, Karoly Vezer and Kristoff Wossala having a finish of 14 and a second had enough to be ahead in the tie with NOR 157 sailed by Terje Wang, Odd Godager and Svein Sorensen who had finishes 5th and 13th.
On the first race NOR 124 with Herman Horn Johannessen, Lars Horn Johannessen and Harald Blom Blakke managed to obtain a second place and the next race a third also moving them ahead at the overall results to be fourth.
The current European champion NOR 131 team Helly Hansen despite a 3th in the first race, a 11th in the following left him with a biter taste. Quickly solved in the afternoon during tha fabulous party with all sailors from all classes involved in the Hanko Sailing Week invited .
Today forecast is for 15-20 knots of wind swell, and no sun after the Soling class will continue with its annual meetings.
