BRA 73 SS Esquadrias team the 2023 South American Champions

After a long sunny but with light winds and three more races conducted by RO Alvaro Scalabrini , the Brazilian team SS Esquadrias BRA 73 with Kadu Berghental, Eduardo Cavalli and Edgar Opptiz won for second and consecutive year the Soling South American Championship achieving four bullets on races three, four, five and eight.
They sailed the last three races of the championship in light winds from 8 to 11 knots with consistency improving during the day first with a fourth then a second then their last bullet of the series.
BRA 78 team equilibrium sailed by Nelson Ilha, Gustavo Ilha and Pedro Ilha finished the event in second, even having to discard the last race which they closed the course finishing last, but it was their discard. During the series they had only one bullet on race number six.
BRA 86 team STE Alarmes sailed by Cicero Hartmann, Vilnei Goldmeier and Andre Renard didn't had their best series, receiving a DSQ on race five and then today with a 3rd a bullet and a sixth was just enough to keep the podium over BRA 128 with Dennis Koch, Alexandre Mueller and Eduardo Carneiro by just two points.
The YCPE hosted a great prize giving with drinks and food for the sailors like every day with their after races, every team got a gift for their participation.
Team USA 853 took the mic to thanks not only the excellent organization but also the Uruguayan Navy who lended one of their old Soling to replace their own which could not leave the club after the trailer broke an axe three blocks on their way to the Ferry.
The next South American Championship will be organized by the Brazilian Soling Associaiton.
