A fantastic day at the lake, finally the sun came out the clouds, the thermal breeze built up as forecasted after the cold and rainy night.
It was a difficult wind for the sailors, some ups, and some downs, from 7 to 17 knots and shifts that sometimes were persistent ones with 20+ degrees at some point, but the major issue was always the holes of light spots. Any way a gorgeous day at the water, where Gert Schmidleitner the race committee head, managed to conclude three races all using the class standards.

The first race while the wind was building had the Hundarian team HUN 1 with Varjas, Kovasci and Meretei rounding ahead and not losing the edge, looking strong the windsniffer GER 308 at his 84 years despite rounding the windward mark 5th after USA 853, the early jibe catapulted him and AUT 100 Spießberger, Reisinger and Schlipfinger to later have personal battles and finish second and third at the race. Team Steinbach AUT 7 Felzmann, Beurle and Felzmann worked the right side of the field and climbed big, finishing 4th this race.

The Second race had some extra time to start, with a persistent shift to the right, the starting line had to be moved, bout 150 mts of line to lift anchor and then put it back again a titan job at the pin end.

The start again was crowded at the starting vessel, team Steinbach AUT 7 working the right side took the lead, they knew the wind, they knew the shifts, they did not miss one and won the race o ever the windsniffer GER 308 that time goes by but experience just builds up, team AUT 100 with another astonishing handling of the Attersee, not their home lake, finished third, always finding the last shift to round the last windward mark ahead a few boats.

The Third race started with the line a bit more decompressed, the right side did not paid all the times, but team Steinbach AUT 7 new it, again another bullet, extra prizes to hand at the wall, the surprise came from team GBR 155 with Gary Richardson, Geroge Barker and Simon Walsh who nailed a second place catapulting them to the first page of the results, always appreciated by the sailors. And again team 100 with last tack to the left completely crazy, ended up paying so much that nailed the third place.

The return of the harbor with smile faces in a fabulous day, with still sun, still wind, an after race dressed with Zipfer beer, prosciutto, music, just to cool down before the scheduled gala dinner at Hotel Häupl where cocktails are served at 1830, dinner at 1900.. and after the party continues at the SCK.

Tomorrow the start is scheduled at 1100, don't forget to collect your trac trac… Those following the event may do it through: https://tractrac.com/event-page/event_20220827_SolingEuro/2295
