It was not a very scary Halloween Sunday on the Chesapeake for the final day of racing. Just a perfect (and slightly unusual) westerly with a fair amount of chop for the short fetch on the course at 10-15 knots provided for two perfect and highly competitive races as the results attest.

Dave Baum prevailed with 2 bullets for the day and won the final tie-breaker over USA 857 Karin Olsen Campia (Eddie Trevelyan & Ales Yakutis) for his great come from behind performance for the series. But the even closer contest was at the finish line of Race Number 5 (Sunday's first of two). Three boats fought through the last quarter boat length and Dave pulled off the squeaker (1) with USA 798 Andy Dize (with Jono Roberts & Joe Hidalgo - 2) between him and Karin (3) -- all less than a meter apart in total.

We saw it all — a tropical and lazy hike up and down the river on Day 1 - the fun race; a near record setting nor'easter tidal surge on Day 2; great breezes with exciting, close and championship racing for Days 3 & 4. Once again, great sailing, great people, and great fun on the Chesapeake. Can't wait to see everyone - and others!!! - again next year in Annapolis!
