This past weekend John Walton sailing his USA 782 together with Andy and Alex were on fire at the 2021 PCC regatta sailed out at the Mission Bay in San Diego, CA. John and team just came from sailing in Milwaukee the US Championship and finishing second at the event, being the best US team just behind the already Soling expert Canadian Peter Hall and team.

The event at the bay started with the typical fluky winds, a condition that Walton has a masters' degree but it improved over the weekend which brought a battle for the title against USA 743 sailed by Claudio Fassardi, Luis Gianotti and Jorge Heguilor, a true latin team which are commonly testing LG sails produced in San Diego, they managed to round first, 7 out the 9 races, but USA 782 in special at light winds on the downwind was just unstoppable.

This event was the return of Claudio Fassardi the Argentine representative in several world championships during the 70' owning ARG 3 sailing with his crew at the South American Championship from 1978 Luis who now is LG sails creative mind.

In third and quite comfortable it came USA 791 Mark Baker sailing with John Mendham and Trevo Van Leeuwen, Mark working hard at the MBYC to keep the Soling fleet active despite the fear, covid restrictions, etc.

The next event in USA will be the Fall Bowl at the end of October, celebrating Halloween at Chesapeake in Annapolis.
