Forecasting a great Soling season in Europe for 2021, the upcoming weekend June 5 and 6 the SCK (Segelclub Kammersee) will host the Austrian Championship on Lake Attersee.

A great fleet of 17 boats already registered for the event showing the local intentions to face a bigger commitment, this because on 2022 the SCK celebrates its 60 anniversary and part of the celebration will be the 2022 Soling European Championship to be held in August.

The great fleet also shows the renovation the class is having in Austria, with young teams leaded by David Schuh or Xaver Seydl that competes against experienced sailors at the middle age like Maximilian Hoyer, visitor Christian Mack or Florian Felzmann, but not leaving behind some of those who have a long history in the class like current Austrian Champion Christian Binder, Alex Hasch, Peter Schaup, or even visitors like Michael Dietzel.

Despite the great entry list, there are still missing too many boats from the rival UYCWg who can have more than just only two entries and they are in time to join, it comes to my mind all the anecdotes told by Peter Denzel and Peter Schaup how in the past they moved all kind of boats from Wolfgangsee to the Attersee making it with wooden trailers and horses doing the short trip in a day… nowadays just a 20 min drive door to door.
