2021 European Championship Notice of Race released

A new year is approaching and hopefully sailing will be our highlight during 2021, with dreams and great expectations, the Spanish Soling fleet is anxious to host their first major event since the year 2000, yes it was 21 years ago the last time the Soling family traveled to Murcia for the last Worlds of the Olympic era, by the way the last time an US team won a major event of the Soling class.

At this time the venue got closer, and also famous due to its sailing week. Santander in the Northern part of Spain at the Cantabria sea in the Vizcaya Gulf, not too far from the biggest fleet in France about 600km.

Four days of racing, and if Covid permits great social gathering with the famous Spanish sea food & Tapas. The Solings in its own race course will be the keelboat to show off amongst Olympic classes, and other dinghies a great opportunity to the class, because the whole new generation of sailors don't even heard about the boat and its qualities.

The local fleet in Madrid, the motion power behind the event is not missing any opportunity to sail, they moved boats to Luanco (closer to Santander) to perform training over the winter and get the sea feeling to perform, and kept sailing at their "lake" even just at Christmas day.
At the past worlds in France the fleet were represented by three boats sailing the event and one mixed team including Argentina expertise to improve their performance, with an impressive logistics they pretend to move all 15 boats fleet to Santander, some of the ones to be used by guests during the event.

Entries can be done at the event site ( www.solingeuropeans.com ) and payment is later collected online by the yacht club website, this will be ready in the upcoming month.

Hope everyone starts planning soon and we are able to sail once again at the beginning of Summer next year.
