1. Rules
1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2. The prescriptions of the Norwegian National Authority will not apply.

2. Special regulatory for Coronavirus 2
2.1. Limited number of crew members:
In accordance with the one (1) meter rule, the Soling will be sailed with a limited number of crew members i.e. two (2) sailors including the helmsman.

3. Advertising category
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority

4. Eligibility and entry
4.1. The regatta is open to all yachts of the International Soling Class
4.2. Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry forms on the event website manage2sail.com no later than 14. August.
4.3. The organizing authority reserves the right to cancel the event, if at the entry deadline the number of boats is less than 5. In this case the entry fee will be refunded.

5. Fees
5.1. The entry fee is NOK 1300 per boat before 14. August.
5.2. The entry fee is NOK 1600 per boat before 21. August.
5.3. The entry fee is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

6. Schedule
6.1. Registration:
The Race Office at will be open for registration on 22. August from 07.30 to 09.30.
6.2. Measurement and Inspection:
A boat or equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing Instructions
6.3. Dates of Racing: Saturday 22. August sailing Sunday 23. August sailing
6.4. Number of races : Maximum 12 races is planned.
6.5. The first warning signal on Saturday will be at 10:30. First warning signal on Sunday will be at 10.00. 6.6. No warning signal after 15.00 on Sunday.

7. Measurement
7.1. For a yacht to be eligible to race, her valid (the original or a copy of the original) Measurement Form shall be presented at the Race Office upon request.

8. Sailing instructions
8.1. Sailing Instructions will be available at manage2sail.com and at registration.

9. Course area
9.1. The course area is located just outside of Fjærholmen.

10. The courses
10.1. A windward/leeward course will apply

11. Penalty system
11.1. The One-Turns Penalty will apply

12. Scoring
12.1. The Low Points Scoring System of RRS A4 will apply.
12.2. 10 races are scheduled of which 4 must be completed to constitute a valid championship.
12.3. a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores.
b) When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score
(c) When 8 or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst score

13. Prizes
13.1. 1⁄4 of the boats in the fleet will receive price

14. Disclaimer of liability
14.1. Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not hold any liability for material damage or personal injury, or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

15. Insurance
15.1. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance cover while racing of not less than NOK 2 mill.

Corona virus restrictions for the Scandinavian Open in Soling on 22-23 August2020
Organizer: Tønsberg Seilforening
Tønsberg Sailing Club wish you welcome to Fjærholmen and to the Soling Scandinavian Open 2020. For this year's regatta we need to implement special precautions due to the current Corona 2 restriction guidelines advised by our government. It is of great importance that we follow the guidelines given. We kindly ask you to respect all precautions taken, helping us to secure a safe arrangement of this year's event.

1. General
We will follow the authorities advise currently valid. This involves a minimum distance of one (1) meter to be held between people. You are not allowed to participate if you are in quarantine or show symptoms of Covid-19. It is of great importance that you keep high standards for your personal hygiene e.g. hand wash etc. All locker rooms will be held closed.

2. Limited number of crew members
In accordance with the one (1) meter rule, the Soling will be sailed with a limited number of crew members i.e. two (2) sailors including the helmsman.

3. At arrival
The area of Tønsberg Sailing Club is restricted from parking during the event. There is parking space available outside the entrance. You can enter through the entrance to drive your boat to the crane only. Please bring the empty trailer back to the outside parking area after deploying your boat in the sea.

4. Registration
The regatta office will be located outdoors on the veranda of the “Seilerstua”.

5. Overview
It is of great importance for the Sailing Club to have everybody present registered during the arrangement. Please register online at manage2sail.com before arrival at Fjærholmen. This is mandatory also for those who are not participating sailing in the regatta. Tønsberg Sailing Club is obliged to have an overview of all people present, in case if any coronavirus infection is detected on the event or after. (The Norwegian “Smittevernloven § 3–6”).

6. Social program
There will be no serving of drinks or food. However, the outdoor barbeques are available for your private cooking.

7. Kiosk
The kiosk will be open Saturday and Sunday 9-10 am and 3-5 pm. No food will be served but you can buy coffee, soft drinks, and ice cream.
