Fantastic racing day in Montreal for the NA Champs

With 4 races done today, the championship have an interesting fight at the top positions, still in Lead CAN 1 with Bill Abbott, Joanne Abbott and Scott McNeil in a tie with CAN 231 Manfred Kanter, Anne Marie Villain and Gord Devries.

It was a good day for local hero CAN 225 Peter Hall, William Hall and Steve Lacey from the RStLYC who had a bullet in the first race a third and two fourths.

The first race with 10-12 knots of wind from the West, had a course change to the right putting CAN 225 ahead.
The second race of the day with less wind on the first windward mark saw an interesting pack rounding of about 12 boats in decreasing wind which made many competitors in the front end up at the back of the fleet.
For the third and fourth race of the day the wind went back to the left and increased, a bit pushing sailors sailing the left course come hot into the weather mark.

CAN 231 had a bullet in the second race, CAN 1 a bullet in the third race and GER 1 with Roman Koch, Martin Zeileis and Michael Dietzel the last bullet of the day.

Tonight the sailors will head up to the Hall’s house for a class party and tomorrow there will be no start after 1300.
