Light winds on the third racing day, around 6 to 9 knots oscillating from the south to southwest. The race committee went to the racecourse while sailors were preparing their boats.
Like sailing at home in the Mugelsee located in Berlin the experience at lake sailing and soft conditions also did play well for GER 339 helmed by Donald Lippertt sailing with Tim Giesecke and Sven Rikwald at the first race of the day taking their 4th bullet at the Worlds.
The local club representative HUN 1 helmed by Sandor Varjas sailing with Laszlo Kovasci and Gabor Meretei started their recover after a few not so good races at the championship and they were followed by team UKR 1 helmed by Sergey Pichuguin sailing with Liubov Chunikhovska and Sergey Ivansits.
At this first race the left side was a bit favored, while for the subsequent race the right and the middle were better and at this race spectators finally saw a major shift at the results with a bullet earned by team AUT 100 helmed by Christian Spiessberger sailing with Max Reisinger and Leopold Berner another light wind specialist they were followed again by HUN 1 showing their strong recovery and in third came AUT 7 helmed by Florian Felzmann sailing with Stephan Beurle and Michael Felzmann .
The leading boat GER 339 started their way to control the podium finishing 7th just behind team Process Solutions HUN 11 helmed by Litkey Farkas sailing with Karoly Vezer and Christoph Wossala, keeping the the gap at the overall standings. Four races more to go and despite all top 5 teams have their chance to win, the battle for the third place got super tight amongst HUN 1, AUT 7 and BRA 73 helmed by Kadu Bergenthal sailing with Vilnei Goldmeier and Edgar Oppitz.
The Norwegian team NOR 141 helmed by August Austfjord sailing with Orjan Flo and Daniel Flo Fjaere now will have to fight hard to regain the lead for the Paul Elvstrom Trophy as AUT 7 helmed by Florian Felzmann and team gained a 10 point gap over them, while Liubov Chunikhovska at UKR 1 together with Pichuguin and Ivansits also maintain their lead to the Tony Clare trophy and the lead over BRA 78 helmed by Nelson Ilha sailing with Manfredo Floricke and Felipe Ilha for the Grand Masters bowl.
Tonight, the BYC will offer the gala dinner at the Vitorlas Restaurant around 18hs where teams will be welcomed initially by Jammertal Wine Estate one of the event sponsors with a presentation of their products, speeches and the awards for today's races. After the meal will be served and sailors will have the opportunity to drink the Jammertal products free of charge.
Tomorrow two more races are schedule once more at 10:00
