Wonderful sun, great weather astonishing scenary with glaciers on the background welcomed the Soling teams taking part at the Italian Championship being held at Sudtirol, the event also being the Italienische Meisterschaft und Alpen cup since the lake Reschensee is located in the German speaking part of Italy.
Two races were held today with 4-8 knots north wind, the one had a quite low intensity to what normally blows at the lake.

The abnormal wind created extra work for the race committee as they cancelled the first race reaching the windward mark on the second round. After that two more races were conducted.

Both races had the left side favored and that's where GER 339 was, the team all the way from Berlin with Donald Lippert, Tim Giesecke and Sven Rikwald is now leading the fleet achieving bullets in both races, but they are close followed by GER 11 sailed by Michael Dietzel, Martin Zeileis and XXXXX and ITA194 the mixed crew Slovenian & Italian with Bostjan Antoncic at helm, Gennari Strach and Massimo Cattaneo.

The next battle falls amongst five boats all close together GER 2, GER 331, USA 1, GER 1 and ITA 252 which is now leading for the Italian title.
This Friday evening sailors await a nice dinner prepared by the organization, menu to be disclosed on tomorrow's article.

Tomorrow three more races are schedule, and the event will finish on Sunday.
