Fantastic last day of racing for the Soling Worlds in Milwaukee, with a nice Sun shining, wind from Southwest 10 to 13 knots. Two more races held by RO Russ Sobota and his staff completing all 10 scheduled races for the championship.
Brazil took it all, with team Campos, SSquadrias leaded by Kadu with the Young Vilnei and Edgard sailing ICO BRA 73 managing to finish second behind CAN 1 with Bill Abbott, Joanne Abbott and Andrew Macrae at the first race after climbing from fourth place passing CAN 233 with Tom Freeman, Dave Veldstra and Steve Donker and USA 853 with Matias Collins, Andreas Baumueller and Peter Norman who also had lost three positions earlier, but regained the one at the last downwind.
BRA 73 did't need to race last race and went home to pack the boat, CAN 1 efforts were not enough to climb but still had to keep CAN 225 with Peter Hall, William Hall and Scott McNeil behind as they managed to do by obtaining again another bullet and CAN 225 finishing third following CAN 230 with Ross Findlater, John McNeil and Gord Devries.
BRA 78 team Equilibrium sailing with Nelson Ilha, Manfredo Floricke and Henrique Ilha finished 5th just behind GER 1 team Kwindoo with Roman Koch, Alex Hasenclever and Joe Brase. They were using a boat from 1973 and therefore won the KC 1 Classic Trophy.
CAN 1 managed to win the Mauzi memorial trophy for the the best team without discards.
BRA 73 had already issues with space at the luggage, and it became worst after knowing that they also won the Lucio Glomb trophy awarded for best South American placed at the event.
The event had a great women participation with Karin Olsen Campia sailing USA 857, the sisters Ashley and Arielle Anderson sailing USA 832, LeAnn Myhre sailing USA 831 and two replacements Ela Wichmann (GER) at USA 852 the last two days, and Caroline Bielski at USA 853 on Tuesday but it was Joanne Abbott on CAN 1 who won the Tony Clare trophy.
