After a long autumn, short winter and wet spring, the soling season is about to start in The Netherlands. This winter the Grevelingencup was sailed by several soling sailors on a Safir 10, a beautiful classic boat from Sweden, they ended on the 7th place overall.

On 22 and 23 April our Solings can participate in the Spring Trophy on the Westeinderplas, hospitably hosted again by the WSA.

On the 13th and 14th of May we will then head for Hoorn, where we were invited by the Etchells club to sail the Hoofdtorenrace. Hoorn is the homebase of the Etchells club, they have their boats there all year long to sail races, have their own starting ship and race committee.

In June we have a combi weekend on the 10th and 11th in Hellevoetsluis. This means that we will train on the Saturday morning and after lunch the helmsmen will take young sailors on the water to introduce them to our soling and hopefully make some youngsters excited about sailing a Soling and joining our class. On Sunday we will sail races.

We hope to head to Warnemunde in July with 5 Dutch boats.
The week after the Worlds in Milwaukee the Open Dutch will be sailed in Hoorn on 30 September and 1 October. This again will be organized together with the Etchells.

Off course the season will be traditionally closed on Lake Kralingen during the Boterletterrace on 2 and 3 December in Rotterdam. There we are friendly received by the KZC.

Another great season in sight for the Dutchies, but we also invite other countries to join. For those interested there are also two rental boats available.
