The Chesapeake Soling Fleet and SSA - Severn Sailing Association, are delighted to officially welcome you, your friends and families in joining us for the 2022 Soling North American Championship Regatta, October 20 to 23.
The regatta will take place at Severn Sailing Association in Historic Annapolis, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay – home of the famous Skipjack, Blue Crabs, Oysters, the United States Naval Academy, and great sailboat racing. At the close of the American Revolutionary War 'where BREXIT began'. The Treaty of Paris was signed here, and Annapolis became our first American Capitol in peacetime. Our beautiful and charming city maintains its historical colonial architecture and features great restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment. It is one hour from the US Capitol, Washington DC, and many other exciting and venues including the scenic Eastern Shore, Baltimore's baseball stadium, Camden Yards, and Fort McHenry.
Located at the mouth of the Severn River leading to the heart of the Chesapeake, SSA recently celebrated its 60th Anniversary and its focused commitment to One Design Sailing Competition. We have a proud Soling Sailing tradition with a continuously active fleet since 1969. It was the home of the late Stuart Walker, who helped found SSA and sailed Solings with us here for over 50 years.
October is the ideal time for racing on the Chesapeake and the wind gods always favor us. With four days of racing, seeing old friends and making new ones, we promise a grand time and can't wait for you to join us.
