Italian Championship at glance

Starting today and until Sunday, the Italian fleet host its Italian Championship in the Circolo Vela Bellano (CVB) located at Lake Como.
Three races were accomplished today in a fantastic weather, hiking winds, an amazing background view, all this with the help of their self-positioning buoys.

Behind the scenes for a fantastic turn out which includes 4 different countries 7 Italian boats, the return of an Austrian team traveling and the new Luxembourg team all of them facing past North American and European Champion NED 33 is the local sailor, Soling enthusiastic that shares the passion with his son: Alberto.

The class is lucky to have great pictures taken by Matteo Garrone, that at this time left his position at ITA 119 to be sailed by Francesco Garrone with the team belonging to Bellano's wonder-girl Marta and her father, this young team which faces the responsibility to defend the BSA young helm trophy next Europeans in lake Attersee ( www.solingeuropeans.com ), and it is up to today the best local team placed at the Italian Championship, all better ones are visitors.

NED 33 with Rudy den Outer, Theo de Lange and Bram Soethoudt who could be called the retired men enjoying the sun in Italy, found themselves in great shape winning all three races, leaving the Italian fight behind, they smashed great pin starts for all three races, and showed off their Mondrian's design kite on the downwinds.

ITA 259 Bruno, Pierfrancesco and Marco Maffezzoli the Garda guys who didn't had a good initial race with a 5th then nailed two seconds managing to keep the second place overall over the Tuscany team ITA 258 with Michele Tognozzi, Haakon Haraldsen and Massimo Alboretti.

Tomorrow the scheduled races continues at 1300hs, with a similar forecast which will require some sun cream and more action at the hiking stripes.
