Fantastic sailing day at the Zipfer Trophy

Attersee opened in the morning cloudy but windy from the west, after the Leberkäse a traditional breakfast held Out oat the UYCAs terrace, the teams were sent out for some sailing, they were advised that the wind was shifty, but good, -Blondl- Schmidleitner also advised that 4 races would probably will be achieved.

All races had so many shifts that cause headaches in all thinkers at the water, the main issue were that sometimes it was not only the shift but a change in wind intensity that made it quite difficult racing. It was a Westerly with 7 to 18 knots of wind along the day increasing for the last race which it was above 15 constantly.

Almost a champagne sailing if were not for the lows at some points of the different races masking crew to constantly come in and out, the sun gave their dime to make it a proper day shinning almost all the time in all cloud openings and due to a hot summer the water temperature was super pleasant to the wet crew.

Out of the 4 races of the day, three teams shared all the available bullets, the strong team from Berlin GER 339 helmed by Donald Lippert sailing with Phillys Lippert and Sven Rikwald took the first two of the day, the ones with lighter winds, and with a side note after giving a show off on proper dance at the UYCAs bar the previous night, something the young can't match for sure.

The third race the bullet ended in hands of team USA 853 helmed by Matias Collins sailing with Andreas Bamueller and Georg Stefenelli who jumped for second time in a Soling to replace Xaver who is wasted in a garden enjoying a wedding that it is not his, this race result is race to dream about.

The fourth bullet went to HUN 1 helmed by Balasz Gyebnese sailing with Gabor Meretei and Casba Andorjan a team that had a great day today coming all their way from the last page of results to the first page with a 3rd on the first race, then a 6th a 4th and their bullet.

Second and third overall is all about constancy GER 77 helmed by Max Bergk sailing with Bolle Hagen Rueffert and Christoph Zeidler , they had a 2nd, 2nd, 6th and a 4th . Enough to be ahead of GER 49 the young team from Berlin GER 49 helmed by Tomas Lukas Voigt sailing with Jannis Liebig and Jean-All Franke who had a 7th, 4th, 2nd and a 3rd . The team that we could call them the the baby boomers of the Soling class, coming straight from the 420 class, probably the best formative class for good sailors.

Tomorrow more races are schedule, we all hope for a similar weather to crown another astonishing Zipfer Trophy.

But tonight the UYCAs throw the gala dinner, and puts a lot of pressure on the chef as it will be difficult to match the fantastic sailing day and the amount of Zipfer beer being consumed in the afternoon, the bar will still go on probably after the dinner.
