Cold wind and rain at the first day of the 2017 Soling Worlds
An amazing light wind, with tremendous oscillations and ups and downs, sometimes heavy rain, sometimes even sun, but temperatures were never above 15 degrees.

The first race saw FIN 46 with Ekki Heinonen, Pasi Palmu and Jenny van der Werf winning the race with solid knowledge of the place. They were followed by team Prevital HUN 11 with Litkey Farkas, Karoly Vezer and Oroszlan Gabor and in third team UNIOR UKR 1 with Igor Yushko, Igor Serverianov and Sergey Pichuguin. At this race the right side of the course clearly was better on the first beat making a great difference, but there were many recovering on the downwind on the opposite site. The wind oscilated up to 30 degrees from 7 to 12 knots

For the second race at the beginning much less wind and extremes paid with winds from 5 to 8 knots and a heavy rain that helped wash the boats or clothes, to almost end the wind at the very end with a huge turn to the right then a big turn back to the left with almost no wind. Saw BRA 45 team El Demolidor with Kadu Bergenthal, Eduardo Cavalli and Renan Oliveira win the race followed by again team HUN 11 and in third CAN 1 with Bill Abbott, Joanne Abbott and Scott McNeil

After racing the sailors had typical Indonesian food and beer at the KNZ&RV, following to the ISA AGM.

Tomorrow two more races at 1100Hs.
