The Brazilian teams will be training hard in Porto Alegre during January with the main objective the Worlds that will take place starting on February 5 till the 13 at the Veleiros do Sul Yacht Club. The competition already counts with 16 entries from Brazil, Germany, Argentina, USA and Canada and more to come.
Amongst the Brazilian skippers , is confirmed the return of
Daniel Glomb, the youngest at the Brazilian delegation in the 1996 Olympics held in Atlanta where he sailed the Solings. He has granted many titles in the class, but later on he moved to sail different classes like the J 24 where he won the European Championship in 2007, and also to sail Match Race where recently he was the Nestle Match Race champion held in Rio de Janeiro and winning the final over Paul Cayard. After 4 years being away from the class he is returning and will be sailing with Geison Mendes, an excellent Brazilian sailor in the Laser radial. Glomb has not defined the third name. He said that his expectations is “the best as possible to the worlds” because besides coming back to the class who kick him into Match Race. -
