This Sunday before the rain announced for the whole next week, the Club Nautico San Isidro started their Soling season, with the Summer event.
Many new faces in all boats except the winning boat ARG 2 with Gustavo Warburg, Hernan Celedoni and Matias Roldan this one a traditional reserve crew coming from the 420 class.
The other boats were flooded with crew coming from the 420 and or 29er, even one of them ARG 28 Federico Warburg to steer the boat with our veteran Arturo Morgan, and his 420 crew Inaki Caviglia as bowman, they won the snorkel prize while rounding quite well the first downwind of the day and suddenly sending the veteran to scuba dive, I imagine it was not easy for the boys to lift 106Kg back into the boat.
Even team Pastachiutta ARG 34 with Diego Cappagli and Alejandro C. Moore decided to give the pink touch of the fleet, calling for Victoria C. Moore to attend and race replacing Mr. Padilla , they did a great racing finishing third at the first race after passing ARG 28 in his particular incident, winning the second race after finding a nice puff on the left side of first downwind and keeping that position to obtain their bullet and then again managing to pass ARG 28 at the second upwind of the last race to finish 4th, enough to grant them a tie over USA 853 with Matias Collins, Joaquin Jordana and Marcos Gilardi on his first time on a Soling after many experiences in the 29er, and the 60' club school boat, the team had a 2nd, a 4th and a 2nd to finish third overall.
The champion made their two bullets and only finish second at the second race when ARG 34 found the right puff.
At the team “homemade brownies” ARG 40 leaded by Martin Jordana, had also the debut from Tomas Munne and Jeronimo Clavero both coming from the 420 they saw too many lines at the first race, but then they got used, and at the second race finishing third in a fierce battle against ARG 2, they lost, ‘but only for this time' Tomas said, a kid eager for the next time, with a chance to beat a three time world champion… this has to be cool with the girls at school… Anyway the sould mate of the team Pili, surprised the sailors together with Marcela bringing Brownies for the after race who had also cold beer.
The next event will be the traditional SIL (San Isidro Labrador) , and it was scheduled to be 6 and 7 of April , the class chose the weekend away from classes that usually have crew in common to avoid making them select one or the other. We hope to see all these new faces again and the usual suspects crowding the event organized by CNSI.
